About Vera

Vera is the fastest-growing clinical app for healthcare professionals in the world. Five people built it.

We’re already operating at a scale most teams never reach, with a team most people would think is too small to pull it off. That’s by design. Everyone here runs at a level that compresses what would normally take entire teams. We keep it that way by only hiring people who raise the standard the moment they join.

We’re building the founding team. The people who join now will define how this company operates for the next decade, and shape the future of healthcare.

The role

Most AI products in healthcare are built by engineers guessing what clinicians need, or by clinicians advising from the sidelines. We want someone who lives in both worlds.

You'll own clinical product areas end-to-end: talking to clinicians, figuring out what they actually need, building it, shipping it, and iterating on it in production. Your clinical background shapes what gets built, how it gets evaluated, and whether it performs safely when it matters.

Our engineering team handles infrastructure and security, so you can stay focused on what clinicians feel every day and what would make it better.

The best version of this person has shipped AI features to a large audience of users at a company where the product had to be fast, opinionated, and delightful, not just functional. And they've practiced medicine.

What you'd do

  • Talk to clinicians constantly, understand their daily workflows, and turn real friction into clean solutions

  • Build end-to-end AI features: architect and ship fullstack solutions that leverage LLMs to augment clinical workflows

  • Design and run evaluations to make sure what you ship is clinically safe, accurate, and useful

  • Work directly with the founders to set product direction for clinical workflows

Who you are

  • Formal medical training (MD, DO, or international equivalent) and real clinical experience

  • Comfortable building with code: fullstack experience and hands-on work with LLMs

  • High agency: you see a problem, talk to a user, and fix it without waiting for a spec

  • User-obsessed: you talk to clinicians, not about them, and you know what it means to get a clinical decision wrong

  • Honest: you say what you think, flag what's broken, and care more about getting it right than being right

  • If you want to keep practicing alongside Vera, you can

How we work

Ship, then improve. We get things in front of users fast and let real feedback drive iteration. A feature in production teaches you more than a month of planning.

Own it completely. There's no handoff culture here. You take a problem and see it through, from first principles to production.

Always look out for the user. Every decision comes back to the clinician on the other end. If it doesn't make their day better, it doesn't ship.

Why Vera

  • Rocketship traction: 100%+ MoM growth, built by a team of 5

  • Real impact: Every feature you build helps clinicians make better decisions and save lives

  • Best time to join: We’ve just raised our Series A and are entering the most important phase of the company, where a small team defines everything that comes next
