CMiC has its head office in Toronto, Canada, and has recently set up a subsidiary located in Dubai. The Cloud & Linux Operations Engineer will be working from the Dubai location and will be responsible for servicing international customers.
Role Overview
We are looking for a skilled Cloud & Linux Operations Engineer to join our Infrastructure team. In this role, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management, maintenance, and support of our multi-cloud environments across AWS, Oracle Cloud, and Microsoft Azure, as well as Windows and Linux server infrastructure. You will play a key role in keeping our systems secure, stable, and running at peak performance, while also providing end-user support when required.
Key Responsibilities
Cloud Infrastructure
- Administer, monitor, and optimise cloud resources across AWS, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), and Microsoft Azure.
- Provision and manage cloud compute, storage, and identity services.
- Implement and maintain cloud cost governance, tagging policies, and resource right-sizing.
- Support cloud architecture decisions and assist with infrastructure-as-code (IaC) tooling such as Terraform or Ansible.
- Monitor cloud environments using native tools (CloudWatch, Azure Monitor, OCI Monitoring) and third-party solutions.
- Assist with cloud security controls, including IAM policies, security groups, and compliance reviews.
Server Patching & Maintenance
- Plan, schedule, and execute patching cycles for Windows and Linux servers in line with change management processes.
- Use patch management tools to maintain compliance.
- Monitor patch compliance and produce reports for audit and management review.
- Document patching outcomes, exceptions, and remediation steps.
Linux & Windows Server Administration
- Manage and support Linux servers (RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu) and Windows Server environments.
- Perform system configuration, tuning, and capacity planning across physical and virtual infrastructure.
- Administer Entra in Windows environments.
- Implement and manage backup and disaster recovery solutions.
End User Support
- Provide Level 2/3 technical support to end users, resolving hardware, software, and connectivity issues.
- Escalate and manage issues through the ITSM ticketing system.
- Support onboarding and offboarding processes, including account provisioning and device configuration.
- Contribute to knowledge base documentation and self-service resources for end users.
- Collaborate with the User Support team to improve first-contact resolution rates.
