Job Summary:

We are seeking a licensed Physiotherapist with a strong interest in movement, exercise therapy, flexibility, and functional performance, rather than acute or post-surgical rehabilitation.

This role sits at the intersection of clinical assessment, insurance-based physiotherapy services, exercise delivery, and patient engagement. The Physiotherapist will conduct structured assessment sessions for different patient cohorts, deliver approved insurance sessions, lead exercise-based sessions in our gym facility, and actively contribute to service growth through appropriate upselling and cross-referrals.

The role requires both clinical competence and commercial awareness, with an understanding of insurance coding, approvals, and clinic workflows.

Key Responsibilities

1. Clinical Assessments & Program Design:

  • Conduct physiotherapy assessment sessions for various patient cohorts (e.g. diabetes, metabolic health, weight management) to identify musculoskeletal dysfunction, postural issues, flexibility and mobility limitations.
  • Assess movement patterns, joint mobility, muscular balance, flexibility, and functional capacity.
  • Develop individualized movement and exercise plans focused on:
    • Strength, mobility, flexibility, and functional performance
    • Injury prevention and movement optimization
    • Lifestyle-integrated physical activity
  • Clearly document findings and recommendations in the clinic’s EMR.

2. Insurance-Based Physiotherapy Services:

  • Support the team in:
  • Understanding applicable insurance physiotherapy codes
  • Preparing documentation required for insurance approvals
  • Aligning clinical assessments with payer requirements
  • Deliver physiotherapy sessions approved under insurance, ensuring:
  • Compliance with coding and documentation standards
  • Clear clinical justification for ongoing sessions
  • Work closely with coordinators and operations teams to ensure smooth patient journeys and minimal claim rejections.

3. Exercise & Gym-Based Sessions:

  • Conduct structured exercise sessions using the clinic’s gym facilities.
  • Deliver both:
  • Clinically-oriented exercise sessions linked to physiotherapy care plans
  • Performance, mobility, and flexibility-focused exercise sessions
  • Ensure sessions are safe, goal-oriented, and aligned with each patient’s clinical and lifestyle needs.
  • Adapt exercise intensity and programming based on patient progress and engagement.

4. Upselling & Cross-Referral Responsibilities:

  • Actively identify opportunities to:
    • Upsell additional physiotherapy or exercise sessions
    • Transition patients from insurance-covered care to cash-based exercise or performance packages where appropriate
    • Educate patients on the value of continued movement-based care beyond their approved sessions.
    • Cross-refer patients to other relevant clinic services and products, including:
      • Exercise coaching
      • Lifestyle or metabolic programs
      • Diagnostic or allied health services
      • Approved clinic products and wellness offerings
  • Maintain a professional, ethical, and patient-centered approach to upselling.

5. Multidisciplinary Collaboration:

  • Work closely with physicians, exercise coaches, lifestyle coaches, dietitians, and operations teams.
  • Contribute to integrated care pathways where physiotherapy, exercise, and medical oversight intersect.
  • Participate in case discussions and contribute to optimizing patient outcomes and retention.
