We are currently seeking an Environmental Scientist, Geologist, or Environmental Engineer with 3-5 years of environmental consulting, environmental construction, or similar experience to support our growing Somerset, New Jersey office. The successful candidate will join a dynamic team performing environmental investigation/due diligence and remediation projects throughout New Jersey.
This position requires a combination of field and office work, with field assignments varying based on project needs. The ideal candidate will have experience independently managing field investigations and environmental sampling activities, while also supporting technical reporting and data management tasks in the office.
This role will support Phase I and II Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs), Preliminary Assessment, Site Investigation, Remedial Investigation, and Remedial Action phase activities at sites impacted by petroleum, solvents, metals, per- and per and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS), and other regulated contaminants. Experience working under NJDEP regulations and guidance is strongly preferred.
A successful candidate will be experienced with soil, groundwater, and vapor intrusion investigations, drilling and subcontractor oversight, environmental construction monitoring, reporting writing, and supporting project managers on various projects and technical documentation preparation. The candidate should be comfortable working both independently and collaboratively in an multidisciplinary consulting environment.
Duties:
- Lead, support, or perform field investigation and sampling activities including soil, groundwater, vapor intrusion, etc. under supervision of senior staff and Licensed Site Remediation Professionals (LSRPs).
- Collect, record, and organize field data to assist with preparation of environmental phase reports.
- Coordinate and oversee subcontracted work
- Support project managers with data tabulation, management, and interpretation of laboratory data.
- Prepare tables, figures, and technical documentation to support environmental phase reports for submission to NJDEP
- Support project managers with project execution, scheduling, and task coordination
- Occasional travel, overtime, and weekend work may be required depending on project schedules
