Hi there—I’m Juan, CEO of Invopop. 👋🏼

Over the last few years, we’ve built a product customers genuinely love, along with strong outbound and partner sales motions. Now it’s time to build inbound!

In our market, inbound matters enormously. Companies start looking for an e-invoicing provider when regulations suddenly become urgent, and they make decisions fast. Being the company they discover — and instantly trust — is critical for us.

I’m looking for a Founding Marketer to build that engine with me.

We work in a deeply technical and regulated space, so great marketing here requires curiosity, precision, and taste. You should treat writing as a craft and use AI to augment it, not replace it. You should enjoy spending days understanding a hairy topic before explaining it simply. And you should know the difference between content that fills space and content that earns trust.

You’ll work closely with our VP of Compliance, product team, and me to turn complex regulation into the clearest, sharpest content in the industry. You’ll also own other parts of marketing, from paid acquisition to webinars and events.

You’ll report directly to me, build the marketing function from scratch, and, over time, grow into the Head of Marketing as you build the team around you.

About Invopop

Invopop helps global companies like Qonto, Hyundai, and DeepL issue and receive invoices across more than 30 countries through a single API.

Over the next few years, more than 50 countries — including the entire EU — will mandate electronic invoicing and real-time reporting to tax authorities.

The opportunity is massive, but the problem is painful: every country has its own formats, APIs, workflows, and edge cases. Most global companies would need dozens of local integrations to stay compliant. Or one integration with Invopop.

Invopop was founded by Sam Lown, co-founder and former CTO of Cabify, after dealing with this problem firsthand, together with Juan Moliner (ex-BCG).

We’ve raised €2.8M from top-tier global investors, including Y Combinator (W23), and were named Best Startup at South Summit 2024 and Madrid’s Hottest Startup by Wired.

Your mission as Founding Marketer

You'll build the marketing engine that makes Invopop the obvious choice when a Finance, Tax, or Tech leader starts evaluating e-invoicing providers.

What you'll do:

  • Own the content engine end-to-end: research, write, edit, publish, and distribute. Blog posts, LinkedIn content, webinars, customer stories, white papers, and country guides. The goal is simple: produce the best content in the industry.

  • Work closely with our VP of Compliance and product team. They’ll bring the regulatory depth; you’ll turn it into clear, useful content for finance, compliance, and engineering audiences.

  • Build the inbound funnel: SEO, landing pages, lifecycle emails, attribution, and conversion paths. Create the foundations for future scale.

  • Run paid marketing efforts across channels like Google and LinkedIn. Own strategy, execution, and experimentation.

  • Help shape adjacent surfaces when needed: positioning, website copy, events, webinars, and newsletters.

  • Use AI thoughtfully. We expect you to already be experimenting with tools that improve research, drafting, localization, or distribution — while understanding that taste, judgment, and voice still matter enormously.

Who we're looking for

Must-have:

  • 5+ years in B2B SaaS marketing

  • Exceptional English writing skills (native or near-native). No Spanish required.

  • Strong taste and a clear opinion on what makes B2B content great

  • Curiosity for technical and regulatory topics

  • Comfortable operating with ambiguity and building from scratch

Nice to have:

  • Hands-on experimentation with AI in your workflow

  • Experience at an API-first, developer-facing, fintech, compliance, or tax company

  • Experience running paid B2B acquisition across search and LinkedIn

  • Familiarity with SEO, attribution, lifecycle tooling, and modern marketing stacks

Where you'll work

Most of the team is based in Madrid and comes to our office daily, a 5-minute walk from Nuevos Ministerios.

For this role, you can work remotely from anywhere in Spain, as long as you’re happy to come to Madrid around once per month for team gatherings, planning sessions, and in-person work.

Why join Invopop
  • World-class team: work alongside experienced founders and builders, including Sam Lown, co-founder and former CTO of Cabify

  • A true founding role: define what great marketing looks like in the AI era. Shape the function, the brand, and eventually the team around you

  • Strong upside and great setup: competitive salary, meaningful ESOP, flexibility, top equipment, and a beautiful office in El Viso

Interview process

The process has five steps:

  • Step 1: Screening call

  • Step 2: Intro call with Juan (30 min)

  • Step 3: Take-home exercise

  • Step 4: Deep-dive interview with Juan + writing review (1h)

  • Step 5: In-person interview with both founders (1h)
