Greenvolt Power Spain is looking for a Grid Connection Engineer to support the growth of our utility-scale renewable energy portfolio. This role focuses on the development, design, and delivery of grid interconnection solutions, ensuring technical feasibility, regulatory compliance, and cost-effectiveness across greenfield projects and acquisitions. 

The successful candidate will act as a key interface with grid operators (TSOs/DSOs), lead interconnection design and permitting activities, and contribute to technical due diligence processes.

Key accountabilities

    • Evaluate the compliance of grid connection solutions with Regulatory requirements, Grid codes and Environmental and permitting conditions 
    • Review all technical documentation and permits related to grid interconnection infrastructure. 
    • Identify technical risks and propose mitigation strategies. 
    • Follow-up on all grid interconnection activities during the project lifecycle 
    • Act as the primary interface with Transmission System Operators (TSOs) and Distribution System Operators (DSOs). 
    • Participate in and support negotiations of grid connection agreements with utilities. 
    • Review and guide the conceptual and basic design of interconnection infrastructure, including Substations, Overhead and underground lines 
    • Ensure designs comply with National grid codes, Utility standards and Environmental and permitting constraints 
    • Follow-up on the permitting process for interconnection facilities. 
    • Coordinate and oversee the preparation of technical studies and documentation. 
    • Review and supervise work delivered by external engineering consultants and contractors. 
    • Analyse and interpret utility studies, including:  
    • Feasibility studies 
    • Power flow and short circuit studies 
    • Stability and system impact studies 
    • Monitor and assess utility network expansion plans for project alignment.
