American factories deserve a supply chain that moves as fast as they do. The next generation of American manufacturing is being built right now. Nox Metals is the supply chain behind it.
We use software and automation to supply metal to American factories faster than the industry thought possible.
We are hiring a Head of People and Recruiting to build the team behind the team. You will own recruiting, onboarding, HR operations, and the systems that turn Nox into the best place in American manufacturing to work. We are scaling from one facility in Detroit to a national footprint of automated cutting cells, and every hire compounds.
You will:
Own the recruiting pipeline end to end, from sourcing to offer, across factory floor, engineering, software, sales, and corporate roles
Build sourcing channels that reach machinists, saw operators, software engineers, and operators who do not show up on LinkedIn
Run a fast, high-signal interview process that protects the bar without slowing the company down
Stand up HR infrastructure: handbook, policies, benefits, payroll, compliance, immigration, performance reviews, comp bands
Manage onboarding so every new hire is productive in their first week
Partner with the CEO and function leads on org design, headcount planning, and succession
Handle employee relations, investigations, and the hard conversations directly
Build the systems and rituals that make Nox a place people want to spend a decade of their career
Open new facilities from a people side: workforce planning, local recruiting partnerships, day-one staffing
You should be:
Experienced running recruiting and HR at a company that scaled from dozens to hundreds of employees
Comfortable hiring across a blue collar factory floor and a software team in the same week
Operationally strong, with a track record of building ATS, HRIS, and payroll systems from scratch
Direct, fair, and unafraid of hard conversations
Obsessed with speed to hire and quality of hire, and able to prove it with numbers
Fluent with modern recruiting and HR tooling, and using AI to take work off your own plate
A builder, not a manager of an existing function
Willing to be on the floor in Detroit, meeting candidates and walking the shop, not running the function from a laptop in another state
Mission-driven, with a long horizon and a chip on your shoulder about American manufacturing
This role is full time, in person in Detroit.
