Role Summary
The mandate of the Fanatics Pre-Press team is to translate card designs to accurate, error-free PDF that areready for press. We are seeking a Preflight operator to review and ensure digital components are technicallycorrect and ready for print production. This role acts as a quality control checkpoint between design and press,identifying and resolving potential file issues before they impact production.
The preflight operator will check artwork for correct size, layout, color settings, image quality, fonts, bleeds, andother print specifications. By ensuring files are production-ready, the preflight operator helps prevent delays,reprints, and quality issues. This role requires strong attention to detail, knowledge of print processes, and theability to manage multiple jobs while meeting tight deadlines. Candidates with a passion for sports andentertainment will likely thrive in our culture.
In this role, you will…- Perform detailed preflight checks by validating content, imagery and design components are available and ready for composition
- Check the file size specs across imagery and design templates
- Verify color modes (CMYK, spot colors), resolution, bleeds, trim, and safety margins
- Assess project setup for composition
- Communicate file issues and required corrections clearly with internal teams
- Meet production deadlines while maintaining high quality standards
- Document project status within the job tracking system
- Attend cross-functional team meetings to discuss project readiness before going to production
- 3+ years of experience in prepress, print production
- Strong attention to detail and ability to proactively solve technical problems
- Proficiency in Adobe InDesign, Acrobat, Illustrator, and Photoshop
- Comfortable operating in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with shifting priorities
- Strong written and verbal communication skills to interact with various
