Lead impactful water resources projects where your work supports resilient infrastructure and sustainable stormwater solutions across the Southeast. At Thomas & Hutton, you’ll take ownership of complex projects, guide a growing team, and collaborate with multidisciplinary professionals to deliver high-quality solutions for public and private sector clients. What you'll do
- • Lead and manage water resources projects including stormwater master planning, drainage design, and hydrologic and hydraulic modeling
- • Oversee the development of watershed studies, capital improvement projects, and stormwater management solutions
- • Perform and manage hydrologic and hydraulic analyses (1D/2D modeling) and drainage design
- • Design and oversee stormwater management systems, erosion and sediment control plans, and NPDES permitting efforts
- • Develop and review contract documents including plans, specifications, and cost estimates
- • Coordinate with clients, contractors, consultants, regulatory agencies, and multidisciplinary teams
- • Manage project scope, schedules, and budgets, including proposal development and fee negotiations
- • Perform and oversee FEMA Letter of Map Changes and related studies
- • Provide leadership, mentorship, and technical guidance to team members
- • Monitor project progress to ensure alignment with scope, schedule, and budget goals
What you bring
- • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field
- • Professional Engineer (PE) license required (Georgia preferred)
- • 10+ years of experience in water resources engineering
- • Strong experience in hydrologic and hydraulic modeling and stormwater management design
- • Experience with green infrastructure and low impact development practices
- • Experience with erosion and sediment control design and permitting
- • Proficiency in preparing construction plans, specifications, and cost estimates
- • Working knowledge of AutoCAD, ArcMap, and hydrologic/hydraulic modeling software
- • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to lead client interactions
- • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and appropriately prioritize workflow
- • Strong organizational and time management skills
- • Ability to mentor staff and lead a high-performing team
- • Ability to perform field work including lifting up to 25 pounds
