As a Reporter, you will be responsible for driving The Drum’s day-to-day editorial coverage for the industry and ensuring consistently high editorial standards. You will regularly break exclusive stories, deliver sharp, timely analysis on key industry trends, and provide authoritative insight on topical issues shaping the sector.

The Drum is expanding rapidly in the US, with Commerce Media and B2B among its key areas of coverage. Prior reporting experience in these sectors is not required, but candidates with relevant expertise or a strong interest in these areas are especially encouraged to apply.

You will represent The Drum externally as a trusted industry voice, building and maintaining strong relationships with sources, stakeholders, and contributors, while upholding the publication’s reputation for quality, accuracy, and influence.

Key Responsibilities:

·       Proactively finding and writing exclusive stories on the marketing and advertising industry

·       Regular interviews with leading figures

·       Producing timely and considered analysis on topical trends and developments   

·       Commissioning, editing, and providing feedback on contributed content where required

·       Working with our social media executive and distribution team to promote your stories on The Drum’s key channels

·       Frequently calling and meeting key contacts to uncover what’s really happening in the industry

·       Supporting colleagues from other teams with your specialist expertise, growing your presence within The Drum and contributing to wider company efforts

·       Continuously honing your network to build your reputation as the go-to industry journalist
