At GALVANY, our goal is to make climate-neutral living a reality for everyone. We focus on execution – developing concrete, smart solutions and making heat pumps, battery storage, and smart metering easy to access, reliable, and affordable. GALVANY-Tech drives the energy transition through software. We're building an AI-based Operating System for sales, planning, installation and operation of heat pumps and integrated energy systems – from single-family homes to multi-unit buildings, and across our Energy Community as a Virtual Power Plant.

We are a profitable green-tech startup and believe that sustainable impact and long-term growth are only possible when grounded in a healthy business model. To implement our ambitious tech roadmap, we secured €10 million in seed funding from Set Ventures and AENU in the spring 2026. Driven by customer value, clarity, and responsibility, we stand for high-quality heating solutions and an environment where people take responsibility and drive lasting impact.

The Role

As Technical Product Manager (m/w/d) Energy at GALVANY, you own the heart of GALVANY FUSION – the Interaction Layer between Energy Market, Customer Comfort and Hardware. You define how our device fleet (heat pumps, batteries, EVs) becomes an active market participant – through EMS, VPP, Dynamic Tariffs and Grid Services. You translate the complexity of the energy market into products that create Continuous Savings and Recurring Revenue.

Responsibilities:

  • Own vision and roadmap for the Energy product surface – across EMS, VPP & Market Flexibility, Energy Data Engine, and Savings Engine.

  • Define optimization strategies and product logic for Heat Pump Load Shifting, Battery Self-Consumption and Arbitrage (Day-Ahead / Intraday), EV Smart Charging, aFRR and Flexibility Trading.

  • Translate energy market mechanics, e.g., Day-Ahead, Intraday, Balancing Power, EnWG §14a, into clear product requirements and engineering tickets.

  • Drive hardware and partner integrations across heat pumps, batteries, dynamic-tariff providers and connectivity – deciding what we build in-house versus what we integrate.

  • Work hands-on with engineering on EMS architecture, API integration, telemetry pipelines and forecasting models.

  • Define and own the KPIs that matter, e.g., €/asset/month, self-consumption ratio, flexibility revenue per battery-kWh, savings-stack contribution per use case.

  • Measure success, orchestrate sprints and releases, and navigate the four product risks (customer value, usability, feasibility, business value) with a particular focus on technical feasibility and regulatory constraints.

  • Support go-to-market for new energy products and pricing tiers in collaboration with Sales, Marketing and Customer Success – making complex energy economics tangible for homeowners.

Requirements

  • Experience. 5+ years of product management experience in high-performance environments – ideally in Energy-Tech, Industrial IoT or related domains (e.g. dynamic tariff providers, VPP operators, EMS/HEMS vendors, smart charging, balancing market players).

  • Energy Domain Track Record. Proven track record building energy products, e.g., EMS/HEMS, Virtual Power Plant, Battery Arbitrage, Smart Charging, Dynamic Tariffs or Balancing Markets. You understand the difference between Day-Ahead and Intraday and know your way around aFRR.

  • Background. Background in Energy Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Computer Science, Physics or comparable – or equivalent hands-on experience in an Energy-Tech company.

  • Technical Aptitude. Strong technical mindset: comfortable with Cloud-to-Cloud APIs, telemetry pipelines, time-series data, forecasting models and IoT-hardware integration. You can read a sequence diagram and challenge an engineer on it.

  • Track Record. Proven end-to-end responsibility in product development – from ideation through release and operation.

  • Mindset. Self-driven problem-solving mindset – no need for micromanagement or specific tickets.

  • Language. Fluent in English and German. German is non-negotiable here: market documentation, regulation and partner conversations happen in German.

Skills and Qualities That Are Important to Us

🚀 Outcome-Led. You focus on value over volume. You embrace iteration, adapt quickly to new information, and prioritize what moves the needle for business and user.

🧠 Systems Thinker. You see the bigger picture. You understand how EMS, VPP, Hardware and Customer Experience connect – ensuring features contribute to a cohesive, scalable energy system.

Pragmatic. You choose the simplest effective path to solve problems – especially by leveraging AI tools.

⚙️ Domain Translator. You translate fluently between energy market mechanics, hardware reality and product decisions – and you make sure engineering, ops and customers all understand the same thing.

🏡 Customer Champion. You keep the end-user central in all decisions, even when working deep in the technical and market stack. You make complex energy economics feel simple and trustworthy.

📊 Data-Informed Prioritizer. You use qualitative and quantitative signals – customer data, telemetry, market prices – to prioritize ruthlessly. You can articulate why not to build something.
