PitchBook — a platform for investment professionals. Our software provides access to data and the analytical tools to get answers fast and discover promising opportunities. Uncovers actionable insights and trends hidden within the financial data of more than three million companies. Users all over the world include large corporations, start-ups, venture capital and private equity firms, investment banks, and many others.
We are now seeking an experienced and visionary Java Engineer to join the team responsible for designing, building, and maintaining a system that collects, transforms, and delivers custom datasets to PitchBook clients in multiple formats.
Tech Stack: Java 21+, Kubernetes, Spring, OpenAPI, PostgreSQL, Kafka
Work Environment: The role offers a flexible work schedule.
As a qualified expert You will
- Design, build, and maintain backend services for data ingestion and transformation
- Collaboration in team, other teams and product managers to meet sprint’s goal
- Participate in code reviews, testing, and continuous integration
- Ensure high standards for security, performance, and reliability
We’re looking for you if you have
- 3+ years of experience in Java development
- Strong understanding of object-oriented programming and design patterns, SOLID, KISS
- Strong understanding of SDLC
- Experience with Spring or Spring Boot frameworks
- Familiarity with RESTful API design and development
- Proficiency in working with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL)
- Hands-on experience with Kubernetes for container orchestration
- Experience with message brokers such as RabbitMQ or Kafka
- Proficient in developing unit, API, and integration tests; able to independently ensure product quality
- Active user of AI tools to enhance productivity, including GitHub Copilot, Claude, MCP servers, etc.
- Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities
