The impact of the role:

The IT Support Engineer provides advanced IT support and troubleshooting to end users, ensuring stable, reliable, and efficient IT operations. This role requires strong technical expertise, a high degree of autonomy, and ownership of small‑scale initiatives. The successful candidate will build trusted relationships with internal customers by understanding and challenging requirements, proposing alternative solutions, and delivering value‑driven outcomes rather than product‑centric fixes.

On a given day, an IT Support Engineer will:

  • Act as the first point of contact for IT incidents and service requests, providing advanced technical support to end users
  • Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, network, and peripheral issues using onsite and remote troubleshooting techniques
  • Install, configure, and maintain standard and customized applications, including software licensing (renewals, updates, upgrades)
  • Manage printers, scanners, and plotters, coordinating with vendors for maintenance and hardware replacement
  • Administer Active Directory, including user accounts, permissions, security settings, and Group Policies
  • Develop and maintain Windows scripts and automation to improve system efficiency and reliability
  • Create, deploy, and support application packages and workstation fleets using SCCM and Intune
  • Support Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI), including VMware VM builds, snapshots, and resource allocation
  • Use ITSM tools (ServiceNow, JIRA, or similar) for incident management, service requests, and workflow tracking, with effective daily planning and prioritization
  • Take ownership of small‑scale projects, manage IT assets end‑to‑end, and apply Lean principles to optimize IT processes and service delivery
