Your opportunity at Arc’teryx:
- As a Senior Designer, Women’s Trail Run, you lead the design and development of advanced, performance-driven product solutions that align with the Arc’teryx design philosophy and solve the needs of the trail runner. You bring a deep curiosity and passion for product, translating athlete insights and real-world conditions into innovative, purpose-built apparel that exceeds the evolving needs of mountain athletes. In this role, you act as both a creative visionary and technical problem solver, driving concepts from initial ideation through to fully resolved, commercialized products. You leverage your expertise in materials, construction, and fit to create cohesive systems that perform in dynamic environments, while continuously pushing boundaries in design innovation. Working cross-functionally with teams in Product Line Management, Development, Materials, and athlete teams, you play a key role in shaping the seasonal run assortment and advancing the brand’s technical capabilities.
- This role is based primarily out of our North Vancouver office and is open to occasional hybrid work. Candidates must be eligible to work in Canada.

If you were in the Senior Designer role now, here are some of the core activities you would be doing:
- Creating innovative performance solutions that underpin our run apparel assortment; partnering to define the future of trail running apparel, delivering thoughtful, high-performance solutions for athletes who demand more from their gear
- Innovating technical design solutions for trail running apparel across all product types
- Collaborating with athletes, research, sketch, construct mockups, and fit prototypes to commercialize industry leading products
- Collaborating with the cross functional teams to resolve fit, style, and construction issues and ensure a fully commercialized product
- Coordinating with the Materials team to drive innovation in materials that exceed the mountain athlete’s performance needs
- Developing and maintaining a thorough understanding of the materials and manufacturing techniques that Arc’teryx works with
- Collaborating closely with other Designers to create and bring new and better toolbox solutions that benefit the brand (such as new technologies, construction techniques, features, etc.)
- Mentoring Designers and Developers by sharing skills, knowledge and experience to build additional capability within the organization and encourage advanced design development and problem solving
- Remaining current with industry trends, collaborating with Arc’teryx athletes and other industry representatives to help ensure Arc’teryx is exceeding our customers evolving needs
- Collaborating with Product Line Managers and Design Directors on seasonal line plans and project resource planning
- Partnering with Development Team Manager to gain visibility into cost estimates, MOQs and LOM concerns throughout concepting and prototyping for seasonal products
- Contributing to the onboarding and training of new Design hires
- Compiling project scope, activities, and expenditures, of projects deemed eligible for submission to funding programs (SR&ED, IRAP, NRC, MITACS, and so forth)

- Working closely with Design leadership and our Merchandising team to craft a strategic plan for Women’s Train Run apparel at Arc’teryx
- Collaborating with various design leaders to identify new product opportunities and propose product solutions
- Working closely with our development teams and innovation partnerships to challenge and evolve the way we bring innovative ideas to production
Are you our next Senior Designer?
- You have a Degree in Design (Apparel, Industrial, etc.) or the equivalent experience, and a minimum of 8+ years’ hands-on experience designing apparel, with 2+ years’ experience leading a team or portfolio
- You have advanced knowledge in design, patterning, sewing, and garment construction with advanced technical and creative skills to pattern and prototype new products
- You are technically proficient with using the Adobe Suite, and/or digital pattern software, CLO3D (or the equivalent software)
- You are an excellent team player with the ability to take direction, work with minimal supervision and mentor and develop team members
- You have hands-on experience creating tools and construction methods to assist in solving construction issues
- You are an innovative problem solver with a focus on collaborative teamwork
- You have excellent planning, organizational, problem solving and decision-making skills
- You are attentive to all the minute details, highly organized, and conscientious of timelines and deliverables
- You are proactive in identifying the root cause of issues, seeking the best (sometimes not the easiest) solutions with an unwavering commitment to do what is right
- You remain highly flexible and adaptable when faced with ambiguity

Compensation
- The salary range for this role is CAD $108,000 – CAD $135,000.
Most new team members join between the start and midpoint of the range, where you can contribute right away while continuing to grow your craft, your collaborations, and your impact at Arc’teryx. This range reflects market alignment and the scope of the role. Individual pay is determined by your skills, experience, and level of responsibility.
