Location: Leesburg, VA

Compensation

  • Project Manager  I: Starting at $95,000+ annually (based on experience)

  • Project Manager  II: Starting at $110,000+ annually (based on experience)

Position Overview

A growing construction and project delivery environment is seeking Construction Project Leads at both intermediate and senior levels to oversee a variety of commercial, institutional, infrastructure, and public-sector construction projects.

These roles involve managing projects through all stages of execution, including estimating, planning, procurement, scheduling, construction oversight, and project closeout. Project types may include renovations, infrastructure improvements, IDIQ contracts, negotiated work, design/build delivery, and fast-paced construction schedules.

Position Levels

Project Manager  I

This level is best suited for professionals managing smaller-scale or moderately complex projects while coordinating daily project execution and supporting overall delivery objectives.

Typical Experience Profile:

  • 4–7 years of construction project management experience with a degree

    or

  • 10+ years of related construction experience without a degree

  • Experience coordinating subcontractors and/or self-performed work

  • Exposure to government-related projects is beneficial

Project Manager  II

This level is intended for professionals overseeing larger or more technically complex projects with increased responsibility for financial management, strategic coordination, and client communication.

Typical Experience Profile:

  • 7–10 years of project management experience with a degree

    or

  • 15+ years of relevant industry experience without a degree

  • Experience with design/build delivery methods, value engineering, and advanced project controls

  • Familiarity with negotiated contracts or government construction environments preferred

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage projects through all phases, including estimating, planning, execution, turnover, and closeout
  • Coordinate subcontractor procurement, buyout activities, and contract administration
  • Develop and maintain project schedules using Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or similar scheduling platforms
  • Monitor schedule performance and address delays, sequencing issues, or critical path impacts
  • Prepare estimates, pricing revisions, change orders, and cost evaluations
  • Conduct job site visits to review project safety, construction quality, and progress
  • Coordinate activities between field teams, subcontractors, vendors, consultants, and project stakeholders
  • Ensure compliance with inspections, permitting requirements, and applicable regulations
  • Lead project meetings and maintain organized project documentation and reporting
  • Oversee project financials, including billing, forecasting, cost tracking, and vendor payments
  • Identify constructability concerns and contribute to value engineering solutions
  • Ensure compliance with contract requirements, safety expectations, and quality standards
  • Support environmental, safety, and quality control initiatives
  • Mentor junior staff members and support team development efforts when applicable
  • Participate in professional networking and ongoing career development activities

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred
  • Equivalent industry experience may be considered in lieu of formal education
  • Strong understanding of commercial construction operations and project execution practices
  • Experience with scheduling, estimating, subcontract administration, and cost management
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and construction/project management software
  • Strong communication, organizational, and leadership capabilities
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving history
  • Ability to work on active construction sites, including climbing, walking uneven terrain, and lifting up to 50 lbs

Preferred Experience & Certifications

  • Experience supporting government or public-sector construction projects
  • Familiarity with IDIQ, JOC, design/build, and fast-track project delivery methods
  • Experience with line-item estimating
  • OSHA 30 certification
  • First Aid and CPR certifications
  • USACE/NAVFAC CQC certification preferred
  • Professional credentials such as AC, CPC, or PE are highly valued
