AI Platform Engineer

You will work on the infrastructure platform supporting AI systems, large language model workloads, observability tooling and internal developer platforms. The role focuses on designing, deploying and operating scalable infrastructure across cloud and on premise environments, while supporting performance, reliability and operational efficiency for research and engineering workflows.

Your future role within QRT

• Design, deploy and maintain infrastructure supporting AI and large language model workloads across AWS and Kubernetes environments
• Manage Kubernetes operations including workload scheduling, resource isolation and GPU enabled infrastructure
• Develop deployment strategies across cloud and on premise environments based on performance, cost and operational requirements
• Manage AWS infrastructure including networking, identity and access management, security controls and cost optimisation
• Build and maintain reusable infrastructure as code using Terraform or equivalent tooling
• Develop and maintain automated deployment workflows using continuous integration and GitOps practices
• Build monitoring and observability tooling covering infrastructure health, latency, utilisation and operational metrics
• Implement authentication, audit logging, rate limiting and operational controls across platform services
• Support internal engineering users with tooling, onboarding and self service infrastructure capabilities
• Collaborate with engineering and research stakeholders to ensure infrastructure meets platform performance requirements

Your present skillset

• 4 or more years of experience in Cloud Engineering, DevOps or Platform Engineering
• Strong Kubernetes experience including cluster operations, workload scheduling and multi tenant environments
• Strong AWS experience including networking, IAM, EKS, EC2 and infrastructure cost management
• Proficiency in Python and infrastructure as code tooling such as Terraform
• Experience building and operating continuous integration and deployment pipelines
• Experience defining and operating against infrastructure service objectives and operational metrics
• Strong ownership mindset with the ability to operate effectively in fast paced environments
• Familiarity with large language model serving infrastructure or GPU enabled workloads is beneficial
• Experience with vector databases, retrieval systems or internal platform APIs is advantageous
• Exposure to performance sensitive or low latency infrastructure environments is beneficial
• AWS or Kubernetes certifications are advantageous
