JOB PURPOSE
 
Manage the indirect tax function for Aldar Group.
 
Assist in the delivery of a full range of indirect tax services in compliance with laws and regulations.
 

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 
Assist in developing and executing indirect tax strategies aligned with the group's objectives and regulatory requirements.
 
Participate in the preparation of indirect tax-related transactions and documentation.
 
Ensure adherence to accounting department policies and procedures, emphasizing compliance with UAE financial reporting statutes, standards, and best practices.
 
Contribute to the preparation of indirect tax returns and related filings.
 
Support the implementation of robust indirect tax compliance processes across the entities.
 
Assist in the periodic and annual indirect tax reporting to the authorities.
 
Provide M&A support and expertise from an indirect tax perspective.
 
Stay informed about changes to indirect tax legislation, providing input on their impact on the business.
 
Identify opportunities to optimize indirect tax positions and mitigate tax risks.
 
Assist in managing relationships and responses to indirect tax audits initiated by tax authorities.
 
Assist with the implementation of relevant indirect tax updates.
 
Provide training and guidance to the tax team and relevant stakeholders within Finance, Accounting, Internal Control, and other departments.
 
Participate in the review of intercompany and related party reconciliations, facilitating timely resolution of reconciling items.
 
Support and monitor audit processes for the assigned area, ensuring timely completion.
 

RELATED YEAR OF EXPERIENCE

Min of: 8+ years of experience of financial accounting and management accounting experience

 

FIELD OF EXPERIENCE

Experience of accounting within real estate or related industry is preferred
 
Preferably with in-house experience in a Big 4 firm.
 
Experience in VAT/E-Invoicing Implimentation

 

TECHNICAL AND INTERPERSONAL SKILLS

Understanding of UAE VAT laws, VAT registration and implementation
 
Knowledge of and ability to apply international accounting standards and ERP systems
 
Knowledge of and ability to adhere to internal controls
 
Good analytical skills
 
Vigilant and detail oriented
 
Strong communication skills
 
Strong time management capabilities

 

QUALIFICATION

Bachelors degree in accounting
 
Professional accounting qualification e.g. CPA or CTA  is preferred
