About the role:

We are looking for a Head of Quality Assurance to take full ownership of fintech product quality and release decisions. In this role, you will design and build a modern, proactive QA function from the ground up - focused on preventing defects through strong engineering practices, automated quality gates, and AI-driven solutions.

You will define the QA strategy, select and implement the right tools, and establish scalable processes that ensure reliable, secure, and compliant releases in a regulated fintech environment. A strong understanding of fintech products and regulatory requirements is essential.

Working closely with engineering and product teams, you will drive a quality-first culture and introduce innovative approaches, including AI-powered test generation, analysis, and triage.

This is a high-impact leadership role with the opportunity to shape the QA organization, influence product outcomes, and directly contribute to customer trust and business success.

Tech stack:

Python, Playwright, Jira,TestRail/ Zephyr/ QASE, GitLab, AWS.

Responsibilities:

  • Own end-to-end product quality across all environments (dev → prod)
  • Build and drive QA strategy, processes, and quality culture focused on defect prevention
  • Own release quality decision (go/no-go), quality gates, and release readiness process
  • Ensure production stability via defect SLAs (P0/P1 prevention and fast resolution)
  • Establish controlled QA/Sandbox environments aligned with production
  • Drive test automation for critical flows (E2E, API, integration) and integrate into CI/CD
  • Ensure risk-based test coverage and visibility of high-risk gaps
  • Own regression strategy and maintain test documentation standards
  • Define and track quality metrics (defect leakage, coverage, flakiness, MTTR)
  • Ensure production safety mechanisms (feature flags / rollback / kill-switches)
  • Improve requirements quality and enforce clear acceptance criteria
  • Lead incident RCA and drive systemic quality improvements
  • Build and scale QA team, structure, and operating model
  • Drive adoption of modern QA and AI-enabled practices

Requirements:

  • 5+ years in QA, including leadership experience
  • Fintech experience - payments, banking, e-money, high-risk systems
  • Strong experience in test automation, CI/CD, and quality gates
  • Experience building proactive QA systems, processes, and coverage models
  • Experience defining and using quality metrics (defect leakage, coverage, etc.)
  • Strong understanding of distributed systems and E2E flows
  • Experience improving release processes and environment strategy
  • Practical experience with modern QA tooling and AI-assisted workflows
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Russian
