The Opportunity:

DataGrail helps companies manage consumer privacy at scale, and our Consent product sits at the front door of that experience, embedded directly on customer websites and applications.

As an Implementation Engineer, Consent you’ll be a hands-on technical expert focused on deploying and troubleshooting consent experiences across real-world environments. You’ll work directly in customer sites to ensure banners, trackers, and consent logic function correctly across a wide range of architectures.

You’ll partner closely with Customer Success to support post-sale implementations, stepping in on technical escalations to diagnose issues, guide customers, and ensure compliant deployments. A core part of your role will be debugging live implementations and translating complex technical behavior into clear, actionable guidance.

This role is a great fit if you enjoy troubleshooting how websites work, debugging JavaScript and DOM behavior, and helping customers solve technical problems.

Beyond individual implementations, you’ll help scale how we deliver Consent by identifying recurring issues and contributing to playbooks, documentation, and tooling that improve speed and consistency.

What You'll Do:

  • Troubleshoot Consent implementations: Diagnose and resolve issues across banner deployment, cookies, and trackers using browser tools and debugging techniques
  • Support web and mobile deployments: Guide customers through implementation across websites and apps, ensuring configurations work across different architectures
  • Partner on customer escalations: Join calls to provide technical guidance and translate issues for technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Improve scalability: Identify recurring challenges and contribute to playbooks, documentation, and templates
  • Build implementation resources: Maintain clear guidance on deployment best practices, common issues, and tools (e.g., tag managers, CSP)
  • Collaborate cross-functionally: Partner with Product and Engineering to surface pain points and improve the product experience

What You'll Bring:

  • 2–4 years of experience in web implementation, technical support, or similar roles
  • Working knowledge of JavaScript and the browser environment (DOM, dev tools, debugging)
  • Experience with tag managers or web tracking tools (e.g., Google Tag Manager)
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to identify root causes
  • Clear communicator, able to explain technical concepts to varied audiences
  • Customer-facing experience in a SaaS, agency, or implementation setting
  • Comfort operating in ambiguity and working independently

Bonus Points

  • Experience with consent management platforms (e.g., OneTrust, Cookiebot, Osano)
  • Familiarity with SPAs (React, Angular, Vue) or CSP configurations
  • Exposure to mobile app implementations (iOS/Android)
  • Experience creating technical documentation
  • Interest in privacy or compliance
