About the role

Mrs. Alice is a fast growing homewares brand designing and curating seasonal collections of tablescapes, tableware and homeware. The brand launched in 2019 and has been growing rapidly since, serving customers worldwide from www.mrsalice.com.

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Senior Merchandiser to cover our Lighting and Home Decor categories  to work alongside our Senior Merchandiser who is accountable for Tableware.  The role will work closely with the whole business but particularly the Buying, Fulfilment and Ecommerce teams to maximize brand growth through dynamic management of stock and budgets across all product categories.

The successful candidate will be someone who will relish the challenge of scaling a fast growing business alongside a small team, someone who's experienced in merchandising, motivated to get hands-on and take responsibilities outside their role.

Responsibilities

Reporting, Forecasting & Strategy

  • Own the end-to-end WSSI (Weekly Stock Sales & Intake) and OTB framework for Homewares and Lighting, designing and optimizing historical reporting and forecasting models to maximize profitability. This will be collaborative with the Senior Merch for tableware so that we remain consistent across the function.
  • Partner strategically with the Buying team to deliver macro and micro-level forecasts, category insights, and territory performance metrics to inform and support their decision making on future range planning and option frameworks.
  • Work closely with the buying team to formulate and pitch seasonal sales, stock, and margin targets directly to senior leadership, aligning B&M  strategy with total company growth and EBITDA goals.

Trade & Repurchasing Strategy

  • Drive the commercial trade strategy, proactively analyzing full-collection performance to suggest weekly replenishment, markdown strategies, and promotional activities.
  • Lead weekly trade meetings in Homewares and Lighting, presenting clear, data-driven repurchase recommendations and risk-mitigation strategies to the broader buying team.

Supplier Optimization & Sourcing Strategy

  • Co-pilot supplier relationship management with Buying, leveraging long-term forecasts to build joint business plans  and help secure production capacity with key vendors.
  • Conduct rigorous commercial reviews of supplier terms, lead times, and margins, proactively identifying levers to optimize working capital and improve gross margin return on investment

Stock Management & Inventory Control

  • Define and streamline the product lifecycle workflow across Buying, Ecommerce, and Merchandising to guarantee seamless, accurate, and timely product launches on backend systems.
  • Act as the primary operational liaison for external finance and accounting partners, ensuring rigorous reconciliation of supplier invoices, landed costs, and balance sheet stock valuations.

Merchandising Team Leadership

  • Build, mentor, and scale the Merchandising function in Homeware and Lighting, taking direct accountability for the hiring, onboarding, and professional development of assistants, allocators, and planners.
  • Foster a high-performance culture by setting clear KPIs, delegating ownership, and implementing best-in-class merchandising practices across the team.
