The magazine is looking for an experienced sub-editor to take the lead on newsletter production. You will play a crucial role in maintaining the magazine's high editorial standards and ensure that all content across our growing batch of newsletters is accurate, engaging, and adheres to the publication’s tone and style. Your keen eye for detail and passion for excellence will be vital in upholding the magazine's reputation for clarity and precision.
Key Responsibilities
- Subediting, uploading and sending the Morning Press newsletter, which goes out every weekday at 7 a.m.,
- Working alongside the Daily Newsletter Editor on Lunchtime Espresso, which goes out every weekday at 1 p.m.
- Editing our weekly newsletters, which include Reality Check, Ukraine in Focus and Spectator Life, and our monthly newsletter, The Take Away.
- Managing our team of four daily newsletter writers and liaising with other newsletter writers to refine and enhance content.
- Ensuring all content aligns with The Spectator’s tone, style, and voice.
- Fact-checking to verify accuracy and authenticity of information.
- Adhering to tight deadlines while maintaining high editorial standards.
- Writing headlines, subheadings, and captions that capture the reader’s attention.
