Policy & Sustainability Internship

About the role

At SkyNRG, sustainability and policy are at the core of everything we do. Our Policy & Sustainability team safeguards the integrity of our Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF), ensures strong environmental and social performance, and actively contributes to shaping the regulatory framework for a sustainable aviation industry.

As a Sustainability & Policy Intern, you will support the team in its work across sustainability standards, lifecycle analysis (LCA), greenhouse gas (GHG) accounting and policy engagement. You will gain insight into how sustainability principles are translated into practice, reporting and policy, while working closely with internal teams, external partners and industry stakeholders. This internship offers a unique opportunity to build hands‑on experience at the intersection of sustainability, policy and energy transition in a fast‑growing, purpose‑driven scale‑up.

Your Responsibilities:
  • Sustainability standards & methodologies: Support the team in reviewing, comparing and applying sustainability standards, LCA methodologies, and GHG accounting frameworks relevant to SAF.

  • Policy & stakeholder support: Assist in preparing input for meetings with industry coalitions, NGOs and governmental or policy stakeholders, and support follow‑up actions, and documentation.

  • Research & analysis: Conduct research on regulatory developments, sustainability initiatives, and policy frameworks related to aviation, fuel standards and climate targets.

  • Internal support: Help support SkyNRG’s teams and projects with sustainability-related questions, data gathering and basic calculations under guidance of the Policy & Sustainability team.

  • Knowledge integration: Contribute to aligning external insights from policy and sustainability forums with SkyNRG’s internal sustainability strategies and reporting approaches.

  • Documentation & reporting: Assist with internal documentation, presentations and summaries related to sustainability performance, policies and methodologies.

Your profile

You recognize yourself in the following:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s student in Environmental Science, Sustainability or a related field enrolled for the full duration of the internship

  • Background in sustainability, energy studies, environmental science, law, politics or a related field

  • Strong interest in sustainability, climate policy and the energy transition

  • Analytical mindset with attention to detail and structure

  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal

  • Fluent in English; Dutch is a strong plus

  • Interest in sustainability frameworks and initiatives such as GHG Protocol, SBTi or similar (prior knowledge is a plus, not a requirement)

  • Proactive, curious and comfortable working in a scale‑up environment

  • Full‑time availability for a 5–6 month internship (start date to be agreed)
