A quick look at the role.
The Senior Financial Analyst is responsible for the accounting and management reporting of the contract. The role works very closely with the operational site to ensure robust financial controls are in place and adhered to.
Your core responsibilities
- Support and develop one indirect report (Site Admin) as part of an effective team providing timely purchase orders & financial data to support to the business
- Prepare & post monthly management accounts, including variance analysis, bowling charts and bridges to meet reporting deadlines and provide useful feedback/explanations of financial performance in alignment with the site operation
- Compilation and distribution of monthly financial reporting pack in conjunction with site management team to provide financial and non-financial staff with useful financial data and KPIs as a foundation for sound commercial decision making and analysis
- Presentation/explanation of weekly & monthly results to divisional FD/MD and other senior personnel to enable understanding of profitability
- Oversee monthly CAPEX & Lifecycle reporting and forecast updates to ensure adherence to budget / model and data availability for change programmes/new business cases
- Responsible for the preparation of budgets, forecasts and five year plans for the contract to aid and assist accurate planning
- Complete balance sheet reconciliations to ensure controls are in place and being adhered to
- Deal with end of year audit queries to support the sign-off of year-end accounts
Our essential requirements
- Qualified or studying towards an accountancy qualification
- Experience of working with and supporting operational colleagues
- Advanced Excel with excellent analytical skills
- Management accounting experience gained in the service, logistics or waste industries an advantage
